Corinthians 4:14-21

I do not write these things to 1shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved 2children.

For if you were to have countless 3tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in 4Christ Jesus I 5became your father through the 6gospel.

Therefore I urge you, be 7imitators of me.

For this reason I 8have sent to you 9Timothy, who is my 10beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, 11just as I teach everywhere in every church.

Now some have become 12 13arrogant, as though I were not 14coming to you.

But I 15will come to you soon, 16if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the 17words of those who are 18arrogant, but their power.

For the kingdom of God is 19not in 20words, but in power.

What do you desire? 21That I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?
