1 Corinthians 4:13-19
13when we are slandered, we 1reply as friends; we have 2become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.
14I do not write these things to 3shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved 4children. 15For if you were to have countless 5tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in 6Christ Jesus I 7became your father through the 8gospel. 16Therefore I urge you, be 9imitators of me. 17For this reason I 10have sent to you 11Timothy, who is my 12beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, 13just as I teach everywhere in every church. 18Now some have become 1415arrogant, as though I were not 16coming to you. 19But I 17will come to you soon, 18if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the 19words of those who are 20arrogant, but their power.
