Romans 6:18-23

18and having been 1freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 192I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just 3as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, 4resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, 5resulting in sanctification.

20For 6when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21Therefore what 78benefit were you then 9deriving 10from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is 11death. 22But now having been 12freed from sin and 13enslaved to God, you 14derive your 1516benefit, 17resulting in sanctification, and 18the outcome, eternal life. 23For the wages of 19sin is death, but the free gift of God is 20eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
