Romans 6:16-20

16Do you not 1know that when you present yourselves to someone as 2slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of 3sin 4resulting in death, or of obedience 5resulting in righteousness? 17But 6thanks be to God that 7though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that 8form of teaching to which you were committed, 18and having been 9freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 1910I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just 11as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, 12resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, 13resulting in sanctification.

20For 14when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
