Romans 5:3-8

31And not only this, but 2we also 3exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about 4perseverance; 4and 5perseverance, 6proven character; and proven character, hope; 5and hope 7does not disappoint, because the love of God has been 8poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

6For while we were still 9helpless, 10at the right time 11Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will hardly die for a righteous man; 12though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8But God 13demonstrates 14His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, 15Christ died for us.
