Romans 5:3-21
31And not only this, but 2we also 3exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about 4perseverance; 4and 5perseverance, 6proven character; and proven character, hope; 5and hope 7does not disappoint, because the love of God has been 8poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
6For while we were still 9helpless, 10at the right time 11Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will hardly die for a righteous man; 12though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8But God 13demonstrates 14His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, 15Christ died for us. 9Much more then, having now been justified 1617by His blood, we shall be saved 18from the wrath of God through Him. 10For if while we were 19enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved 2021by His life. 1122And not only this, 23but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received 24the reconciliation.
12Therefore, just as through 25one man sin entered into the world, and 26death through sin, and 27so death spread to all men, because all sinned-- 13for 28until the Law sin was in the world, but 29sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned 30in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a 3132type of Him who was to come.
15But 33the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of 34the one 35the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by 36the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. 16The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand 37the judgment arose from one transgression 38resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions 39resulting in justification. 17For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned 40through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will 41reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
18So then as through 42one transgression 43there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one 44act of righteousness 45there resulted 46justification of life to all men. 19For as through the one man’s disobedience 47the many 48were made sinners, even so through 49the obedience of the One 50the many will be made righteous. 205152The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, 53grace abounded all the more, 21so that, as 54sin reigned in death, even so 55grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
