Romans 3:19-28

19Now we know that whatever the 1Law says, it speaks to 2those who are 3under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and 4all the world may become accountable to God; 20because 5by the works 6of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for 78through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

21But now apart 9from the Law 10the righteousness of God has been manifested, being 11witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22even the 12righteousness of God through 13faith 14in Jesus Christ for 15all those 16who believe; for 17there is no distinction; 23for all 1819have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24being justified as a gift 20by His grace through 21the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25whom God displayed publicly as 22a 23propitiation 2425in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, 26because in the 27forbearance of God He 28passed over the sins previously committed; 26for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who 29has faith in Jesus.

27Where then is 30boasting? It is excluded. By 31what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 2832For 33we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works 34of the Law.
