1Nowagainוַיֹּ֙סֶף֙vai.Yo.sefH3254the angerאַף־'af-H639of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068burnedלַחֲר֖וֹתla.cha.RotH2734against Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and it incitedוַיָּ֨סֶתvai.Ya.setH5496Davidדָּוִ֤דda.VidH1732against them to sayלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Goלֵ֛ךְlekhH1980,numberמְנֵ֥הme.NehH4487Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478and Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.”

2The kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Joabיוֹאָ֣ב׀yo.'AvH3097the commanderשַׂר־sar-H8269of the armyהַחַ֣יִלha.Cha.yilH2428whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834was with him, “GoH7751aboutH7751nowנָ֞אna'H4994through allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the tribesשִׁבְטֵ֤יshiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,from Danמִדָּן֙mi.DanH1835to BeershebaH884, andregisterוּפִקְד֖וּu.fik.DuH6485the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971,that I may knowוְיָ֣דַעְתִּ֔יve.Ya.da'.TiH3045the numberמִסְפַּ֥רmis.ParH4557of the peopleהָעָֽם׃ סha.'AmH5971.”

3But Joabיוֹאָ֜בyo.'AvH3097saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, “Now may the Lordיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430addוְיוֹסֵ֣ףve.yo.SefH3254to the peopleהָעָ֜םha.'AmH5971a hundredמֵאָ֣הme.'AhH3967timesפְעָמִ֔יםfe.'a.MimH6471as many as they are, while the eyesוְעֵינֵ֥יve.'ei.NeiH5869of my lordאֲדֹנִֽי־'a.do.ni-H113the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428stillseeרֹא֑וֹתro.'otH7200;but whyלָ֥מָּהLa.mahH4100does my lordוַאדֹנִ֣יva.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428delightחָפֵ֖ץcha.FetzH2654in thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088thingבַּדָּבָ֥רba.da.VarH1697?”
