9They saidוַיֹּאמְר֞וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to the messengersלַמַּלְאָכִ֣יםla.mal.'a.KhimH4397who had comeהַבָּאִ֗יםha.ba.'ImH935, “Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541you shall sayתֹֽאמְרוּן֙to.me.RunH559to the menלְאִישׁ֙le.'IshH376of Jabesh-gileadיָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֔דya.Veish gil.'AdH3003 H1568, ‘Tomorrowמָחָ֛רma.CharH4279,by the time the sunהַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁha.Sha.meshH8121is hotH2552,you will haveתִּהְיֶֽה־tih.yeh-H1961deliveranceתְּשׁוּעָ֖הte.shu.'AhH8668.’”So the messengersהַמַּלְאָכִ֗יםha.mal.'a.KhimH4397wentוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and toldוַיַּגִּ֛ידוּvai.ya.Gi.duH5046the menH376of Jabeshיָבֵ֖ישׁya.VeishH3003;and they were gladוַיִּשְׂמָֽחוּ׃vai.yis.Ma.chuH8055.

10Then the menH376of Jabeshיָבֵ֔ישׁya.VeishH3003saidוַֽיֹּאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Tomorrowמָחָ֖רma.CharH4279we will comeנֵצֵ֣אne.Tze'H3318out to you, and you may doוַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣םva.'a.si.TemH6213to us whateverכְּכָל־ke.khol-H3605seems goodהַטּ֖וֹבha.TovH2896to you.”

11The nextמִֽמָּחֳרָ֗תmi.mo.cho.RatH4283morningH4283Saulשָׁא֣וּלsha.'UlH7586putוַיָּ֨שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760the peopleהָעָם֮ha.'AmH5971in threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֣הshe.lo.ShahH7969companiesרָאשִׁים֒ra.ShimH7218;and they cameוַיָּבֹ֤אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935into the midstבְתוֹךְ־ve.tokh-H8432of the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙ha.ma.cha.NehH4264at the morningהַבֹּ֔קֶרha.Bo.kerH1242watchבְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶתbe.'ash.Mo.retH821and struckH5221downH5221the Ammonitesעַמּ֖וֹןa.MonH5983untilעַד־'ad-H5704the heatחֹ֣םchomH2527of the dayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117.Those who survivedהַנִּשְׁאָרִים֙ha.nish.'a.RimH7604were scatteredוַיָּפֻ֔צוּvai.ya.Fu.tzuH6327,so that noוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808twoשְׁנַ֥יִםshe.Na.yimH8147of them were leftנִשְׁאֲרוּ־nish.'a.ru-H7604togetherיָֽחַד׃Ya.chadH3162.

12Then the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔לshe.mu.'ElH8050, “Whoמִ֣יmiH4310is he that saidהָאֹמֵ֔רha.'o.MerH559, ‘Shall Saulשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586reignיִמְלֹ֣ךְyim.LokhH4427overעָלֵ֑ינוּ'a.Lei.nuH5921us?’Bringתְּנ֥וּte.NuH5414the menH376,that we may putוּנְמִיתֵֽם׃u.ne.mi.TemH4191them to deathH4191.”
