19He saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to her, “Giveתְּנִֽי־te.ni-H5414me your sonבְּנֵ֑ךְbe.NekhH1121.”Then he tookוַיִּקָּחֵ֣הוּvai.yi.ka.Che.huH3947him from her bosomמֵחֵיקָ֗הּme.chei.KahH2436and carriedוַֽיַּעֲלֵ֙הוּ֙vai.ya.'a.Le.huH5927him up to the upperהָעֲלִיָּ֗הha.'a.li.YahH5944roomH5944whereאֲשֶׁר־ שָׁ֔ם'a.Sher- ShamH834 H8033he was livingיֹשֵׁ֣בyo.ShevH3427,and laidוַיַּשְׁכִּבֵ֖הוּvai.yash.ki.Ve.huH7901him on his own bedמִטָּתֽוֹ׃mi.ta.ToH4296.

20He calledוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “O Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068my Godאֱלֹהָ֔י'e.lo.HaiH430,have You alsoהֲ֠גַםHa.gamH1571broughtH7489calamityH7489to the widowהָאַלְמָנָ֞הha.'al.ma.NahH490with whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I amstayingמִתְגּוֹרֵ֥רmit.go.RerH1481,by causing her sonבְּנָֽהּ׃be.NahH1121to dieלְהָמִ֥יתle.ha.MitH4191?”

21Then he stretchedוַיִּתְמֹדֵ֤דvai.yit.mo.DedH4058himself upon the childהַיֶּ֙לֶד֙hai.Ye.ledH3206threeשָׁלֹ֣שׁsha.LoshH7969timesפְּעָמִ֔יםpe.'a.MimH6471,and calledוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “O Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068my Godאֱלֹהָ֔י'e.lo.HaiH430,I prayנָ֛אna'H4994You, let thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088child’sהַיֶּ֥לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206lifeנֶֽפֶשׁ־ne.fesh-H5315returnתָּ֥שָׁבta.shoH7725to him.”

22The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֥עvai.yish.Ma'H8085the voiceבְּק֣וֹלbe.KolH6963of Elijahאֵלִיָּ֑הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452,and the lifeנֶֽפֶשׁ־ne.fesh-H5315of the childהַיֶּ֛לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206returnedוַתָּ֧שָׁבva.Ta.shovH7725to him and he revivedוַיֶּֽחִי׃vai.Ye.chiH2421.

23Elijahאֵלִיָּ֜הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947the childהַיֶּ֗לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206and broughtH3381him downוַיֹּרִדֵ֤הוּvai.yo.ri.De.huH3381from the upperהָעֲלִיָּה֙ha.'a.li.YahH5944roomH5944into the houseהַבַּ֔יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004and gaveוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖הוּvai.yi.te.Ne.huH5414him to his motherלְאִמּ֑וֹle.'i.MoH517;and Elijahאֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Seeרְאִ֖יre.'IH7200,your sonבְּנֵֽךְ׃be.NekhH1121is aliveחַ֥יchaiH2416.”

24Then the womanהָֽאִשָּׁה֙ha.'i.ShahH802saidוַתֹּ֤אמֶרva.To.merH559to Elijahאֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452, “Nowעַתָּה֙'a.TahH6258I knowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045that you are a manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430and that the wordוּדְבַר־u.de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068in your mouthבְּפִ֖יךָbe.Fi.khaH6310is truthאֱמֶֽת׃ פ'e.MetH571.”
