Isaiah 15:1-6
1The 1oracle concerning 2Moab. Surely in a night 3Ar of Moab is devastated and ruined; Surely in a night Kir of Moab is devastated and ruined.2They have gone up to the 4temple and to 5Dibon, even to the high places to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and Medeba; Everyone’s head is 6bald and every beard is cut off.3In their streets they have girded themselves with 7sackcloth; 8On their housetops and in their squares Everyone is wailing, 910dissolved in tears.411Heshbon and Elealeh also cry out, Their voice is heard all the way to Jahaz; Therefore the 12armed men of Moab cry aloud; His soul trembles within him.5My heart cries out for Moab; His fugitives are as far as 13Zoar and Eglath-shelishiyah, For they go up the 14ascent of Luhith weeping; Surely on the road to Horonaim they raise a cry of distress 15over their ruin.6For the 16waters of Nimrim are 17desolate. Surely the grass is withered, the tender grass 18died out, There is 19no green thing.
