2 Thessalonians 3
Exhortation
11Finally, brethren, 2pray for us that 3the word of the Lord will 4spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; 2and that we will be 5rescued from 6perverse and evil men; for not all have 7faith. 3But 8the Lord is faithful, 9and He will strengthen and protect you 10from 11the evil one. 4We have 12confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you 13are doing and will continue to do what we command. 5May the Lord 14direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.
6Now we command you, brethren, 15in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you 1617keep away from every brother who 18leads an 1920unruly life and not according to 21the tradition which 22you received from us. 7For you yourselves know how you ought to 2324follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, 8nor did we 25eat 26anyone’s bread 27without paying for it, but with 28labor and hardship we kept 29working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; 9not because we do not have 30the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves 31as a model for you, so that you would 32follow our example. 10For even 33when we were with you, we used to give you this order: 34if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. 11For we hear that some among you are 35leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like 36busybodies. 12Now such persons we command and 37exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to 38work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. 13But as for you, 39brethren, 40do not grow weary of doing good.
14If anyone does not obey our 41instruction 4243in this letter, take special note of that person 4445and do not associate with him, so that he will be 46put to shame. 15Yet 47do not regard him as an enemy, but 4849admonish him as a 50brother.
16Now 51may the Lord of peace 52Himself continually grant you peace in every 53circumstance. 54The Lord be with you all!
1755I, Paul, write this greeting 56with my own hand, and this is a distinguishing mark in every letter; this is the way I write. 1857The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
