2 Peter 2:3-9
3and in their 1greed they will 2exploit you with 3false words; 4their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
4For 5if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and 6committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; 5and did not spare 7the ancient world, but preserved 8Noah, a 9preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a 10flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6and if He 11condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an 12example to those who would 13live ungodly lives thereafter; 7and if He 14rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the 15sensual conduct of 16unprincipled men 8(for by what he saw and heard that 17righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), 918then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from 19temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the 20day of judgment,
