2 Corinthians 11:18-30
18Since 1many boast 2according to the flesh, I will boast also. 19For you, 3being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. 20For you tolerate it if anyone 4enslaves you, anyone 5devours you, anyone 6takes advantage of you, anyone 7exalts himself, anyone 8hits you in the face. 21To my 9shame I must say that we have been 10weak by comparison.
But in whatever respect anyone else 11is bold--I 12speak in foolishness--I am just as bold myself. 22Are they 13Hebrews? 14So am I. Are they 15Israelites? 16So am I. Are they 1718descendants of Abraham? 19So am I. 23Are they 20servants of Christ?--I speak as if insane--I more so; in 2122far more labors, in 2324far more imprisonments, 2526beaten times without number, often in 27danger of death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 28thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 29beaten with rods, once I was 30stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 31countrymen, dangers from the 32Gentiles, dangers in the 33city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among 34false brethren; 27I have been in 35labor and hardship, 36through many sleepless nights, in 37hunger and thirst, often 38without food, in cold and 3940exposure. 28Apart from such 41external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 42all the churches. 29Who is 43weak without my being weak? Who is 44led into sin 45without my intense concern?
30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 46weakness.
