1 Timothy 1:9-20

9realizing the fact that 1law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and 2rebellious, for the 3ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and 4profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 105and 67immoral men 8and 9homosexuals 10and 11kidnappers 12and 13liars 14and 15perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to 16sound teaching, 11according to 17the glorious gospel of 18the blessed God, with which I have been 19entrusted.

12I thank 20Christ Jesus our Lord, who has 21strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, 22putting me into service, 13even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a 23persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was 24shown mercy because 25I acted ignorantly in unbelief; 14and the 26grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the 27faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. 1528It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that 29Christ Jesus came into the world to 30save sinners, among whom 31I am foremost of all. 16Yet for this reason I 32found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might 33demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those 34who would believe in Him for eternal life. 17Now to the 35King 36eternal, 37immortal, 38invisible, the 39only God, 40be honor and glory 41forever and ever. Amen.

18This 42command I entrust to you, Timothy, 43my 44son, in accordance with the 45prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you 46fight the good fight, 19keeping 47faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to 4849their faith. 2050Among these are 51Hymenaeus and 52Alexander, whom I have 53handed over to Satan, so that they will be 54taught not to blaspheme.
