1And it came to pass, when Jabinיָבִ֣יןya.VinH2985kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Hazorחָצ֑וֹרcha.TzorH2674had heardכִּשְׁמֹ֖עַkish.Mo.a'H8085those things,that he sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֗חvai.yish.LachH7971to Jobabיוֹבָב֙yo.VavH3103kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Madonמָד֔וֹןma.DonH4068,and to the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Shimronשִׁמְר֖וֹןshim.RonH8110,and to the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Achshaphאַכְשָֽׁף׃'akh.ShafH407,

2And to the kingsהַמְּלָכִ֞יםha.me.la.KhimH4428that wereon the northמִצְּפ֗וֹןmi.tze.FonH6828of the mountainsבָּהָ֧רba.HarH2022,and of the plainsוּבָעֲרָבָ֛הu.va.'a.ra.VahH6160southנֶ֥גֶבNe.gevH5045of Chinnerothכִּֽנֲר֖וֹתki.na.RotH3672,and in the valleyוּבַשְּׁפֵלָ֑הu.va.she.fe.LahH8219,and in the bordersוּבְנָפ֥וֹתu.ve.na.FotH5299of Dorדּ֖וֹרDorH1756on the westמִיָּֽם׃mi.YamH3220,

3And tothe Canaaniteהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669on the eastמִמִּזְרָ֣חmi.miz.RachH4217and on the westוּמִיָּ֔םu.mi.YamH3220, and tothe Amoriteוְהָאֱמֹרִ֧יve.ha.'e.mo.RiH567,and the Hittiteוְהַחִתִּ֛יve.ha.chi.TiH2850,and the Perizziteוְהַפְּרִזִּ֥יve.hap.pe.ri.ZiH6522,and the Jebusiteוְהַיְבוּסִ֖יve.hay.vu.SiH2983in the mountainsבָּהָ֑רba.HarH2022, and tothe Hiviteוְהַֽחִוִּי֙ve.ha.chi.ViH2340under Hermonחֶרְמ֔וֹןcher.MonH2768in the landבְּאֶ֖רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Mizpehהַמִּצְפָּֽה׃ha.mitz.PahH4709.

4And they went outוַיֵּצְא֣וּvai.ye.tze.'UH3318,they and all their hostsמַֽחֲנֵיהֶם֙ma.cha.nei.HemH4264with them, muchרָ֕בravH7227peopleעַם־'am-H5971,even as the sandכַּח֛וֹלka.CholH2344that isupon the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220shoreשְׂפַת־se.fat-H8193in multitudeלָרֹ֑בla.RoH7230,with horsesוְס֥וּסve.SusH5483and chariotsוָרֶ֖כֶבva.Re.khevH7393veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966manyרַב־rav-H7227.

5And when all these kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428were met togetherוַיִּוָּ֣עֲד֔וּvai.yi.Va.'a.DuH3259,they cameוַיָּבֹ֜אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and pitchedוַיַּחֲנ֤וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583togetherיַחְדָּו֙yach.DavH3162at the watersמֵ֣יmeiH4325of Meromמֵר֔וֹםme.RomH4792,to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֖םle.hi.la.ChemH3898against Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.

6And the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁעַ֮ye.ho.shu.a'H3091,Be not afraidתִּירָ֣אti.Ra'H3372becauseמִפְּנֵיהֶם֒mi.pe.nei.HemH6440of them: for to morrowמָחָ֞רma.CharH4279about this timeכָּעֵ֣תka.'EtH6256will I deliver them upנֹתֵ֧ןno.TenH5414all slainחֲלָלִ֖יםcha.la.LimH2491beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478:thou shalt houghתְּעַקֵּ֔רte.'a.KerH6131their horsesסוּסֵיהֶ֣םsu.sei.HemH5483,and burnתִּשְׂרֹ֥ףtis.RofH8313their chariotsמַרְכְּבֹתֵיהֶ֖םmar.ke.vo.tei.HemH4818with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ba.'EshH784.

7So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֡עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935,and all the peopleעַם֩'amH5971of warהַמִּלְחָמָ֨הha.mil.cha.MahH4421with him, against them by the watersמֵ֥יmeiH4325of Meromמֵר֖וֹםme.RomH4792suddenlyפִּתְאֹ֑םpit.'OmH6597;and they fell uponוַֽיִּפְּל֖וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307them.

8And the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068deliveredוַיִּתְּנֵ֨םvai.yi.te.NemH5414them into the handבְּיַֽד־be.yad-H3027of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֮Yis.ra.'ElH3478,who smoteוַיַּכּוּם֒vai.ya.KumH5221them, and chasedוַֽיִּרְדְּפ֞וּםvai.yir.de.FumH7291them unto greatרַבָּ֗הra.BahH7227Zidonצִיד֣וֹןtzi.DonH6721,and unto Misrephoth–maimH4956,and unto the valleyבִּקְעַ֥תbik.'AtH1237of Mizpehמִצְפֶּ֖הmitz.PehH4708eastwardמִזְרָ֑חָהmiz.Ra.chahH4217;and they smoteוַיַּכֻּ֕םvai.ya.KumH5221them, until they leftהִשְׁאִֽיר־hish.'ir-H7604them none remainingשָׂרִֽיד׃sa.RidH8300.

9And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091didוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213unto them as the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068badeאָֽמַר־'a.mar-H559him: he houghedעִקֵּ֔ר'i.KerH6131their horsesסוּסֵיהֶ֣םsu.sei.HemH5483,and burntשָׂרַ֥ףsa.RafH8313their chariotsמַרְכְּבֹתֵיהֶ֖םmar.ke.vo.tei.HemH4818with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ סba.'EshH784.

10And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091at that timeבָּעֵ֤תba.'EtH6256turned backוַיָּ֨שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725,and tookוַיִּלְכֹּ֣דvai.yil.KodH3920Hazorחָצ֔וֹרcha.TzorH2674,and smoteהִכָּ֣הhi.KahH5221the kingמַלְכָּ֖הּmal.KahH4428thereof with the swordבֶחָ֑רֶבve.Cha.revH2719:for Hazorחָצ֣וֹרcha.TzorH2674beforetimeלְפָנִ֔יםle.fa.NimH6440was the headרֹ֖אשׁroshH7218of all those kingdomsהַמַּמְלָכ֥וֹתha.mam.la.KhotH4467.

11And they smoteוַ֠יַּכּוּVai.ya.kuH5221all the soulsהַנֶּ֨פֶשׁha.Ne.feshH5315that weretherein with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחֶ֙רֶב֙che.revH2719,utterly destroyingהַֽחֲרֵ֔םha.cha.RemH2763them:there was not any leftנוֹתַ֖רno.TarH3498to breatheנְשָׁמָ֑הne.sha.MahH5397:and he burntשָׂרַ֥ףsa.RafH8313Hazorחָצ֖וֹרcha.TzorH2674with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ba.'EshH784.

12And all the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of those kingsהַמְּלָכִֽים־ha.me.la.khim-H4428,and all the kingsמַלְכֵיהֶ֞םmal.khei.HemH4428of them, did Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091takeלָכַ֧דla.KhadH3920,and smoteוַיַּכֵּ֥םvai.ya.KemH5221them with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחֶ֖רֶבChe.revH2719, andhe utterly destroyedהֶחֱרִ֣יםhe.che.RimH2763them, as Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872the servantעֶ֥בֶד'E.vedH5650of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֔הtzi.VahH6680.

13But as forthe citiesהֶעָרִ֗יםhe.'a.RimH5892that stoodהָעֹֽמְדוֹת֙ha.'o.me.dOtH5975still in their strengthתִּלָּ֔םti.LamH8510,Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478burnedשְׂרָפָ֖םse.ra.FamH8313none of them, saveזוּלָתִ֛יzu.la.TiH2108Hazorחָצ֥וֹרcha.TzorH2674only; thatdid Joshuaיְהוֹשֻֽׁעַ׃ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091burnשָׂרַ֥ףsa.RafH8313.

14And all the spoilשְׁלַ֞לshe.LalH7998of these citiesהֶעָרִ֤יםhe.'a.RimH5892,and the cattleוְהַבְּהֵמָ֔הve.ha.be.he.MahH929,the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478took for a preyבָּזְז֥וּba.ze.ZuH962unto themselves; but every manהָאָדָ֞םha.'a.DamH120they smoteהִכּ֣וּhi.KuH5221with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחֶ֗רֶבChe.revH2719,until they had destroyedהִשְׁמִדָם֙hish.mi.DamH8045them, neither leftהִשְׁאִ֖ירוּhish.'I.ruH7604they any to breatheנְשָׁמָֽה׃ne.sha.MahH5397.

15As the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֤הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872his servantעַבְדּ֔וֹav.DoH5650,so did Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872commandצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,and so didעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091;he leftH5493nothingדָּבָ֔רda.VarH1697undoneH5493of all that the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

16So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947all that landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776,the hillsהָהָ֤רha.HarH2022,and all the south countryהַנֶּ֙גֶב֙ha.Ne.gevH5045,and all the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Goshenהַגֹּ֔שֶׁןha.Go.shenH1657,and the valleyהַשְּׁפֵלָ֖הha.she.fe.LahH8219,and the plainהָעֲרָבָ֑הha.'a.ra.VahH6160,and the mountainהַ֥רharH2022of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and the valleyוּשְׁפֵלָתֹֽה׃u.she.fe.la.TohH8219of the same;

17Evenfrom the mountהָהָ֤רha.HarH2022Halakהֶֽחָלָק֙he.cha.LakH2510,that goeth upהָעוֹלֶ֣הha.'o.LehH5927to Seirשֵׂעִ֔ירse.'IrH8165,even unto Baal–gadH1171in the valleyבְּבִקְעַ֣תbe.vik.'AtH1237of Lebanonהַלְּבָנ֔וֹןha.le.va.NonH3844under mountהַר־har-H2022Hermonחֶרְמ֑וֹןcher.MonH2768:and all their kingsמַלְכֵיהֶם֙mal.khei.HemH4428he tookלָכַ֔דla.KhadH3920,and smoteוַיַּכֵּ֖םvai.ya.KemH5221them, and slewוַיְמִיתֵֽם׃vay.mi.TemH4191them.

18Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091madeעָשָׂ֧ה'a.SahH6213warמִלְחָמָֽה׃mil.cha.MahH4421a longרַבִּ֗יםra.BimH7227timeיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117with all those kingsהַמְּלָכִ֥יםha.me.la.KhimH4428.

19There was not a cityעִ֗יר'IrH5892that made peaceהִשְׁלִ֙ימָה֙hish.Li.mahH7999with the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,save the Hivitesהַחִוִּ֖יha.chi.ViH2340the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Gibeonגִבְע֑וֹןgiv.'onH1391: all otherthey tookלָקְח֥וּla.ke.ChuH3947in battleבַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃va.mil.cha.MahH4421.

20For it was of the Lordיְהוָ֣ה׀Yah.wehH3068to hardenלְחַזֵּ֣קle.cha.ZekH2388their heartsלִבָּם֩li.BamH3820,that they should come againstH7125Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478in battleהַמִּלְחָמָ֤הha.mil.cha.MahH4421,that he might destroy them utterlyהַֽחֲרִימָ֔םha.cha.ri.MamH2763, andthat they might have no favourתְּחִנָּ֑הte.chi.NahH8467,but that he might destroyהַשְׁמִידָ֔םhash.mi.DamH8045them, as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃ סmo.ShehH4872.

21And at that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256cameוַיָּבֹ֨אvai.ya.Vo'H935Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,and cut offוַיַּכְרֵ֤תvai.yakh.RetH3772the Anakimsהָֽעֲנָקִים֙ha.'a.na.KimH6062from the mountainsהָהָ֤רha.HarH2022,from Hebronחֶבְרוֹן֙chev.rOnH2275,from Debirדְּבִ֣רde.VirH1688,from Anabעֲנָ֔ב'a.NavH6024,and from all the mountainsהַ֣רharH2022of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and from all the mountainsהַ֣רharH2022of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478:Joshuaיְהוֹשֻֽׁעַ׃ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091destroyed them utterlyהֶחֱרִימָ֥םhe.che.ri.MamH2763with their citiesעָרֵיהֶ֖ם'a.rei.HemH5892.

22There was none of the Anakimsעֲנָקִ֔ים'a.na.KimH6062leftנוֹתַ֣רno.TarH3498in the landבְּאֶ֖רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478:only in Gazaבְּעַזָּ֛הbe.'a.ZahH5804,in Gathבְּגַ֥תbe.GatH1661,and in Ashdodוּבְאַשְׁדּ֖וֹדu.ve.'ash.DodH795,there remainedנִשְׁאָֽרוּ׃nish.'A.ruH7604.

23So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947the whole landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776,according to all that the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068saidדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696unto Mosesמֹשֶׁה֒mo.ShehH4872;and Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֨עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091gaveוַיִּתְּנָהּ֩vai.yi.te.NahH5414it for an inheritanceלְנַחֲלָ֧הle.na.cha.LahH5159unto Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לle.Yis.ra.'ElH3478according to their divisionsכְּמַחְלְקֹתָ֖םke.mach.le.ko.TamH4256by their tribesלְשִׁבְטֵיהֶ֑םle.shiv.tei.HemH7626.And the landוְהָאָ֥רֶץve.ha.'A.retzH776restedשָׁקְטָ֖הsha.ke.TahH8252from warמִמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ פmi.mil.cha.MahH4421.
