2And he didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213that which wasevilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and followedאַחַ֨ר'a.CharH310 H3212the sinsחַטֹּ֜אתcha.TotH2403of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nebatנְבָ֛טne.VatH5028,which made Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478to sinהֶחֱטִ֥יאhe.che.Ti'H2398;he departedסָ֥רsarH5493not therefrom.

3And the angerאַ֥ף'afH639of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068was kindledוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and he deliveredוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֞םvai.yi.te.NemH5414them into the handבְּיַ֣ד׀be.YadH3027of Hazaelחֲזָאֵ֣לcha.za.'ElH2371kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Syriaאֲרָ֗ם'a.RamH758,and into the handוּבְיַ֛דu.ve.YadH3027of Ben–hadadH1130the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Hazaelחֲזָאֵ֖לcha.za.'ElH2371, all theirdaysהַיָּמִֽים׃hai.ya.MimH3117.

4And Jehoahazיְהוֹאָחָ֖זye.ho.'a.ChazH3059besoughtוַיְחַ֥לvay.ChalH2470the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068hearkenedוַיִּשְׁמַ֤עvai.yish.Ma'H8085untoפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440him: for he sawרָאָה֙ra.'AhH7200the oppressionלַ֣חַץLa.chatzH3906of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,because the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Syriaאֲרָֽם׃'a.RamH758oppressedלָחַ֥ץla.ChatzH3905them.

5(And the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068gaveוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙le.Yis.ra.'ElH3478a saviourמוֹשִׁ֔יעַmo.Shi.a'H3467,so that they went outוַיֵּ֣צְא֔וּvai.Ye.tze.'UH3318from under the handיַד־yad-H3027of the Syriansאֲרָ֑ם'a.RamH758:and the childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478dweltוַיֵּשְׁב֧וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in their tentsבְּאָהֳלֵיהֶ֖םbe.'o.ho.lei.HemH168,as beforetimeכִּתְמ֥וֹל שִׁלְשֽׁוֹם׃kit.Mol shil.ShomH8543 H8032.

6Nevertheless they departedסָ֜רוּSa.ruH5493not from the sinsמֵחַטֹּ֧אותme.cha.TotH2403of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֛םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379,who made Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478sinהֶחֱטִ֥יאhe.che.ti'H2398, butwalkedהָלָ֑ךְha.LakhH1980therein: and there remainedעָמְדָ֖ה'a.me.DahH5975the groveהָאֲשֵׁרָ֔הha.'a.she.RahH842also in Samariaבְּשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃be.sho.me.RonH8111.)

7Neither did he leaveהִשְׁאִ֨ירhish.'IrH7604of the peopleעָ֗ם'AmH5971to Jehoahazלִיהוֹאָחָ֜זli.ho.'a.ChazH3059but fiftyחֲמִשִּׁ֤יםcha.mi.ShimH2572horsemenפָּֽרָשִׁים֙pa.ra.ShimH6571,and tenוַעֲשָׂ֣רָהva.'a.Sa.rahH6235chariotsרֶ֔כֶבRe.khevH7393,and tenוַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶתva.'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִ֖ים'a.la.FimH505footmenרַגְלִ֑יrag.LiH7273;for the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Syriaאֲרָ֔ם'a.RamH758had destroyedאִבְּדָם֙'i.be.DamH6them, and had madeוַיְשִׂמֵ֥םvay.si.MemH7760them like the dustכֶּֽעָפָ֖רke.'a.FarH6083by threshingלָדֻֽשׁ׃la.DushH1758.

8Now the restוְיֶ֨תֶרve.Ye.terH3499of the actsדִּבְרֵ֧יdiv.ReiH1697of Jehoahazיְהוֹאָחָ֛זye.ho.'a.ChazH3059,and all that he didעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213,and his mightוּגְבוּרָת֑וֹu.ge.vu.ra.ToH1369, arethey not writtenכְּתוּבִ֗יםke.tu.VimH3789in the bookסֵ֛פֶרSe.ferH5612of the chroniclesדִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖יםdiv.Rei hai.ya.MimH3117 H1697of the kingsלְמַלְכֵ֥יle.mal.KheiH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478?

9And Jehoahazיְהֽוֹאָחָז֙ye.ho.'a.ChazH3059sleptוַיִּשְׁכַּ֤בvai.yish.KavH7901with his fathersאֲבֹתָ֔יו'a.vo.TavH1;and they buriedוַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֖הוּvai.yik.be.Ru.huH6912him in Samariaבְּשֹׁמְר֑וֹןbe.sho.me.RonH8111:and Joashיוֹאָ֥שׁyo.'AshH3101his sonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427in his stead.
