2And the womanהָֽאִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802aroseוַתָּ֙קָם֙va.Ta.komH6965,and didוַתַּ֕עַשׂva.Ta.'asH6213after the sayingכִּדְבַ֖רkid.VarH1697of the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430:and she wentH3212with her householdוּבֵיתָ֔הּu.vei.TahH1004,and sojournedוַתָּ֥גָרva.Ta.gorH1481in the landבְּאֶֽרֶץ־be.'e.retz-H776of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖יםpe.lish.TimH6430sevenשֶׁ֥בַעShe.va'H7651yearsשָׁנִֽים׃sha.NimH8141.
3And it came to pass at the sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651years’שָׁנִ֔יםsha.NimH8141endמִקְצֵה֙mik.TzehH7097,that the womanהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802returnedוַתָּ֥שָׁבva.Ta.shovH7725out of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430:and she went forthוַתֵּצֵא֙va.te.Tze'H3318to cryלִצְעֹ֣קlitz.'OkH6817unto the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428for her houseבֵּיתָ֖הּbei.TahH1004and for her landשָׂדָֽהּ׃sa.DahH7704.
4And the kingוְהַמֶּ֗לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428talkedמְדַבֵּר֙me.da.BerH1696with Gehaziגֵּ֣חֲזִ֔יge.cha.ZiH1522the servantנַ֥עַרNa.'arH5288of the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Tellסַפְּרָה־sa.pe.rah-H5608me, I pray thee, all the great thingsהַגְּדֹל֖וֹתha.ge.do.LotH1419that Elishaאֱלִישָֽׁע׃'e.li.Sha'H477hath doneעָשָׂ֥ה'a.SahH6213.
5And it came to pass, as he was tellingמְסַפֵּ֣רme.sa.PerH5608the kingלַמֶּלֶךְ֮la.me.leKhH4428how he had restoredH2421a dead bodyהַמֵּת֒ha.MetH4191to lifeH2421,that, behold, the womanהָאִשָּׁ֜הha.'i.ShahH802,whose sonבְּנָהּ֙be.NahH1121he had restored to lifeH2421,criedצֹעֶ֣קֶתtzo.'E.ketH6817to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428for her houseבֵּיתָ֖הּbei.TahH1004and for her landשָׂדָ֑הּsa.DahH7704.And Gehaziגֵּֽחֲזִי֙ge.cha.ZiH1522saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,My lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113,O kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, this isthe womanהָֽאִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802, and this isher sonבְּנָ֖הּbe.NahH1121,whom Elishaאֱלִישָֽׁע׃'e.li.Sha'H477restored to lifeH2421.
6And when the kingהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428askedוַיִּשְׁאַ֥לvai.yish.'AlH7592the womanלָאִשָּׁ֖הla.'i.ShahH802,she toldוַתְּסַפֶּר־va.te.sa.per-H5608him. So the kingהַמֶּלֶךְ֩ha.me.leKhH4428appointedוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414unto her a certainאֶחָ֜ד'e.ChadH259officerסָרִ֨יסsa.RisH5631,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,Restoreהָשֵׁ֤יבha.SheivH7725all that washers, and all the fruitsתְּבוּאֹ֣תte.vu.'OtH8393of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֔הha.sa.DehH7704since the dayמִיּ֛וֹםmi.YomH3117that she leftעָזְבָ֥ה'a.ze.VahH5800the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776, even until now.
7And Elishaאֱלִישָׁע֙'e.li.Sha'H477cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935to Damascusדַּמֶּ֔שֶׂקda.Me.sekH1834;and Ben–hadadH1130the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Syriaאֲרָ֖ם'a.RamH758was sickחֹלֶ֑הcho.LehH2470;and it was toldוַיֻּגַּד־vai.yu.gad-H5046him, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,The manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430is comeבָּ֛אba'H935hitherהֵֽנָּה׃He.nahH2008.
8And the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Hazaelחֲזָהאֵ֗לcha.za.h.'ElH2371,Takeקַ֤חkachH3947a presentמִנְחָ֔הmin.ChahH4503in thine handבְּיָֽדְךָ֙be.ya.de.KhaH3027,and goH3212,meetH7125the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,and enquireוְדָרַשְׁתָּ֨ve.da.rash.TaH1875of the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068by him, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Shall I recoverהַאֶחְיֶ֖הha.'ech.YehH2421of this diseaseמֵחֳלִ֥יme.cho.LiH2483?
9So Hazaelחֲזָאֵל֮cha.za.'ElH2371wentH3212to meetH7125him, and tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947a presentמִנְחָ֤הmin.ChahH4503with himבְיָדוֹ֙ve.ya.DoH3027,even of every good thingט֣וּבtuvH2898of Damascusדַּמֶּ֔שֶׂקda.Me.sekH1834,fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705camels’גָּמָ֑לga.MalH1581burdenמַשָּׂ֖אma.Sa'H4853,and cameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935and stoodוַיַּעֲמֹ֣דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975beforeלְפָנָ֔יוle.fa.NavH6440him, and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Thy sonבִּנְךָ֨bin.KhaH1121Ben–hadadH1130kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Syriaאֲרָם֙'a.RamH758hath sentשְׁלָחַ֤נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me to thee, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Shall I recoverהַאֶחְיֶ֖הha.'ech.YehH2421of this diseaseמֵחֳלִ֥יme.cho.LiH2483?
10And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, GoH3212,sayאֱמָר־'e.mor-H559unto him, Thou mayest certainlyחָיֹ֣הcha.YohH2421recoverתִחְיֶ֑הtich.YehH2421:howbeit the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068hath shewedוְהִרְאַ֥נִיve.hir.'A.niH7200me that he shall surelyמ֥וֹתMotH4191dieיָמֽוּת׃ya.MutH4191.
12And Hazaelחֲזָאֵ֔לcha.za.'ElH2371saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Why weepethבֹכֶ֑הvo.KhehH1058my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113?And he answeredוַיֹּ֡אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Because I knowיָדַ֡עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045the evilרָעָ֗הra.'AhH7451that thou wilt doתַּעֲשֶׂה֩ta.'a.SehH6213unto the childrenלִבְנֵ֨יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478:their strong holdsמִבְצְרֵיהֶ֞םmiv.tze.rei.HemH4013wilt thou setתְּשַׁלַּ֤חte.sha.LachH7971on fireבָּאֵשׁ֙ba.'EshH784,and their young menוּבַחֻֽרֵיהֶם֙u.va.chu.rei.HemH970wilt thou slayתַּהֲרֹ֔גta.ha.RogH2026with the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719,and wilt dashתְּרַטֵּ֔שׁte.ra.TeshH7376their childrenוְעֹלְלֵיהֶ֣םve.'o.le.lei.HemH5768,and rip upתְּבַקֵּֽעַ׃te.va.Ke.a'H1234their women with childוְהָרֹתֵיהֶ֖םve.ha.ro.tei.HemH2030.
13And Hazaelחֲזָהאֵ֔לcha.za.h.'ElH2371saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, But what, isthy servantעַבְדְּךָ֙'av.de.KhaH5650a dogהַכֶּ֔לֶבha.Ke.levH3611,that he should doיַעֲשֶׂ֔הya.'a.SehH6213this greatהַגָּד֖וֹלha.ga.DolH1419thingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697?And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477answeredוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,The Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068hath shewedהִרְאַ֧נִיhir.'A.niH7200me that thou shalt bekingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428over Syriaאֲרָֽם׃'a.RamH758.
14So he departedH3212from Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֗ע'e.li.Sha'H477,and cameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935to his masterאֲדֹנָ֔יו'a.do.NavH113;who saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, What saidאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֑ע'e.li.Sha'H477to thee? And he answeredוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,He toldאָ֥מַר'A.marH559me thatthou shouldest surelyחָיֹ֥הcha.YohH2421recoverתִחְיֶֽה׃tich.YehH2421.
15And it came to pass on the morrowמִֽמָּחֳרָ֗תmi.mo.cho.RatH4283,that he tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947a thick clothהַמַּכְבֵּר֙ha.makh.BerH4346,and dippedוַיִּטְבֹּ֣לvai.yit.BolH2881itin waterבַּמַּ֔יִםba.Ma.yimH4325,and spreadוַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂvai.yif.RosH6566iton his faceפָּנָ֖יוpa.NavH6440,so that he diedוַיָּמֹ֑תvai.ya.MotH4191:and Hazaelחֲזָהאֵ֖לcha.za.h.'ElH2371reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427in his stead.
16And in the fifthחָמֵ֗שׁcha.MeshH2568yearוּבִשְׁנַ֣תu.vish.NatH8141of Joramלְיוֹרָ֤םle.yo.RamH3141the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ahabאַחְאָב֙'ach.'AvH256kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Jehoshaphatוִיהוֹשָׁפָ֖טvi.ho.sha.FatH3092beingthen kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,Jehoramיְהוֹרָ֥םye.ho.RamH3088the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֖טye.ho.sha.FatH3092kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063began to reignמָלַ֛ךְma.LakhH4427.
17Thirtyשְׁלֹשִׁ֥יםshe.lo.ShimH7970and twoוּשְׁתַּ֛יִםu.she.Ta.yimH8147yearsשָׁנָ֖הsha.NahH8141oldבֶּן־ben-H1121was he when he began to reignבְמָלְכ֑וֹve.ma.le.KhoH4427;and he reignedמָלַ֖ךְma.LakhH4427eightוּשְׁמֹנֶ֣הu.she.mo.NehH8083yearsשָׁנִ֔יםsha.nahH8141in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃bi.ru.sha.LimH3389.
18And he walkedH3212in the wayבְּדֶ֣רֶךְ׀be.De.rekhH1870of the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,as didעָשׂוּ֙'a.SuH6213the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֔ב'ach.'AvH256:for the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Ahabאַחְאָ֔ב'ach.'AvH256was his wifeלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802:and he didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
19Yet the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068wouldאָבָ֤ה'a.VahH14not destroyלְהַשְׁחִ֣יתle.hash.ChitH7843Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063for Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732his servant’sעַבְדּ֑וֹav.DoH5650sake, as he promisedאָֽמַר־'a.mar-H559him to giveלָתֵ֨תla.TetH5414him alwayהַיָּמִֽים׃hai.ya.MimH3117a lightנִ֛ירnirH5216, andto his childrenלְבָנָ֖יוle.va.NavH1121.
21So Joramיוֹרָם֙yo.RamH3141went overוַיַּעֲבֹ֤רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674to Zairצָעִ֔ירָהtza.'I.rahH6811,and all the chariotsהָרֶ֖כֶבha.Re.khevH7393with him: and he roseקָ֣םkamH6965by nightלַ֗יְלָהLay.lahH3915,and smoteוַיַּכֶּ֨הvai.ya.KehH5221the Edomitesאֱד֜וֹם'e.DomH123which compassed him aboutהַסֹּבֵ֤יבha.so.VeivH5437,and the captainsשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of the chariotsהָרֶ֔כֶבha.Re.khevH7393:and the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971fledוַיָּ֥נָסvai.Ya.nosH5127into their tentsלְאֹהָלָֽיו׃le.'o.ha.LavH168.
