24And Saulשָׁא֤וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050,I have sinnedחָטָ֔אתִיcha.Ta.tiH2398:for I have transgressedעָבַ֥רְתִּי'a.Var.tiH5674the commandmentפִּֽי־pi-H6310of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,and thy wordsדְּבָרֶ֑יךָde.va.Rei.khaH1697:because I fearedיָרֵ֙אתִי֙ya.Re.tiH3372the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,and obeyedוָאֶשְׁמַ֖עva.'esh.Ma'H8085their voiceבְּקוֹלָֽם׃be.ko.LamH6963.

25Now therefore, I pray thee, pardonשָׂ֥אsa'H5375my sinחַטָּאתִ֑יcha.ta.TiH2403,and turn againוְשׁ֣וּבve.ShuvH7725with me, that I may worshipוְאֶֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖הve.'esh.ta.cha.VehH7812the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.

26And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586,I will not returnאָשׁ֖וּב'a.ShuvH7725with thee: for thou hast rejectedמָאַ֙סְתָּה֙ma.'As.tahH3988the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068hath rejectedוַיִּמְאָסְךָ֣vai.yim.'a.se.KhaH3988thee from being kingמֶ֖לֶךְMe.lekhH4428over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.

27And as Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050turned aboutוַיִּסֹּ֥בvai.yi.SoH5437to go awayH3212,he laid holdוַיַּחֲזֵ֥קvai.ya.cha.ZekH2388upon the skirtבִּכְנַף־bikh.naf-H3671of his mantleמְעִיל֖וֹme.'i.LoH4598,and it rentוַיִּקָּרַֽע׃vai.yi.ka.Ra'H7167.

28And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔לshe.mu.'ElH8050saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, The Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068hath rentקָרַ֨עka.Ra'H7167the kingdomמַמְלְכ֧וּתmam.le.KhutH4468of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478from thee this dayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117,and hath givenוּנְתָנָ֕הּu.ne.ta.NahH5414it to a neighbourלְרֵעֲךָ֖le.re.'a.KhaH7453of thine, that isbetterהַטּ֥וֹבha.TovH2896than thou.

29And also the Strengthנֵ֣צַחNe.tzachH5331of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478will not lieיְשַׁקֵּ֖רye.sha.KerH8266nor repentיִנָּחֵ֑םyi.na.ChemH5162: for he isnot a manאָדָ֛ם'a.DamH120,that he should repentלְהִנָּחֵֽם׃le.hi.na.ChemH5162.

30Then he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,I have sinnedחָטָ֔אתִיcha.Ta.tiH2398: yethonourכַּבְּדֵ֥נִיka.be.De.niH3513me now, I pray thee, before the eldersזִקְנֵֽי־zik.nei-H2205of my peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971,and before Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and turn againוְשׁ֣וּבve.ShuvH7725with me, that I may worshipוְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֵ֖יתִיve.hish.ta.cha.Vei.tiH7812the Lordלַֽיהוָ֥הla.Yah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃'e.lo.Hei.khaH430.

31So Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050turned againוַיָּ֥שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725afterאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586;and Saulשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586worshippedוַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּvai.yish.Ta.chuH7812the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃ סla.Yah.wehH3068.

32Then saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֗לshe.mu.'ElH8050,Bring ye hitherהַגִּ֤ישׁוּha.Gi.shuH5066to me Agagאֲגַג֙'a.GagH90the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the Amalekitesעֲמָלֵ֔ק'a.ma.LekH6002.And Agagאֲגַ֖ג'a.GagH90cameH3212unto him delicatelyH4574.And Agagאֲגָ֔ג'a.GagH90saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Surelyאָכֵ֖ן'a.KhenH403the bitternessמַר־mar-H4751of deathהַמָּֽוֶת׃ סha.Ma.vetH4194is pastסָ֥רsarH5493.

33And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔לshe.mu.'ElH8050saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,As thy swordחַרְבֶּ֔ךָchar.Be.khaH2719hath made womenנָשִׁים֙na.ShimH802childlessשִׁכְּלָ֤הshi.ke.LahH7921,so shall thy motherאִמֶּ֑ךָ'i.Me.khaH517be childlessתִּשְׁכַּ֥לtish.KalH7921among womenמִנָּשִׁ֖יםmi.na.ShimH802.And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֧לshe.mu.'ElH8050hewedH8158Agagאֲגָ֛ג'a.GagH90in piecesH8158beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068in Gilgalבַּגִּלְגָּֽל׃ סba.gil.GalH1537.

34Then Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050wentH3212to Ramahהָרָמָ֑תָהha.ra.Ma.tahH7414;and Saulוְשָׁא֛וּלve.sha.'UlH7586went upעָלָ֥ה'a.LahH5927to his houseבֵּית֖וֹbei.ToH1004to Gibeahגִּבְעַ֥תgiv.'AtH1390of Saulשָׁאֽוּל׃sha.'UlH7586.

35And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֜לshe.mu.'ElH8050came no moreיָסַ֨ףya.SafH3254to seeלִרְא֤וֹתlir.'otH7200Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586until the dayי֣וֹםYomH3117of his deathמוֹת֔וֹmo.ToH4194:neverthelessH3588Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050mournedהִתְאַבֵּ֥לhit.'a.BelH56for Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586:and the Lordוַיהוָ֣הva.Yah.wehH3068repentedנִחָ֔םni.ChamH5162that he had made Saulשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586kingהִמְלִ֥יךְhim.LikhH4427over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.
