Revised Version 1895

Leviticus 25:25-41

IfH3588 thy brotherH251 be waxen poorH4134, and sellH4376 some of his possessionH272, then shall his kinsmanH251 that is nextH1350 unto him comeH935, and shall redeemH1350 that which his brotherH251 hath soldH4376.

And ifH3588 a manH376 have noH3808 one to redeemH1350 it, and he be waxen rich and findH4672 sufficientH1767 to redeemH1350 it;

then let him countH8141 the yearsH8141 of the saleH4465 thereof, and restoreH7725 the overplus unto the manH376 to whomH834 he soldH4376 it; and he shall returnH7725 unto his possessionH272.

But ifH518 he be notH3808 ableH3027 to getH3318 it backH7725 for himselfH3027, then that which he hath soldH4465 shall remainH1961 in the handH3027 of him that hath boughtH7069 it untilH5704 the yearH8141 of jubile: and in the jubile it shall goH3318 outH3318, and he shall returnH7725 unto his possessionH272.

And ifH3588 a manH376 sellH4376 a dwellingH4186 houseH1004 in a walledH2346 cityH5892, then he may redeem it withinH1004 a wholeH3117 yearH8141 afterH1961 it is soldH4376; for a fullH3117 yearH8141 shall he have the rightH1353 of redemptionH1353.

And ifH518 it be notH3808 redeemedH1350 withinH1004 the spaceH4390 of a fullH4390 yearH8141, then the houseH1004 that is in the walledH2346 cityH5892 shall be madeH834 sure in perpetuity to him that boughtH7069 it, throughoutH1755 his generationsH1755: it shall notH3808 goH3318 outH3318 in the jubile.

But the housesH1004 of the villages whichH834 have noH369 wallH2346 roundH5439 aboutH1961 them shall be reckonedH2803 with the fieldsH7704 of the countryH776: they may be redeemed, and they shall goH3318 outH3318 in the jubile.

Nevertheless the citiesH5892 of the LevitesH3881, the housesH1004 of the citiesH5892 of their possessionH272, may the LevitesH3881 redeem at anyH1961 time.

And ifH3588 one of the LevitesH3881 redeemH1350, then the houseH1004 that was soldH4465, and the cityH5892 of his possessionH272, shall goH3318 outH3318 in the jubile: for the housesH1004 of the citiesH5892 of the LevitesH3881 are their possessionH272 among the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478.

But the fieldH7704 of the suburbs of their citiesH5892 may notH3808 be soldH4376; for it is their perpetualH5769 possessionH272.

And ifH3588 thy brotherH251 be waxen poorH4134, and his handH3027 fail with thee; then thou shalt uphold him: as a strangerH1616 and a sojournerH8453 shall he liveH2421 with thee.

TakeH3947 thou noH408 usuryH8636 of him or increaseH8636; but fearH3372 thy GodH430: that thy brotherH251 may liveH2421 with thee.

Thou shalt notH3808 giveH5414 him thy moneyH3701 upon usury, norH3808 giveH5414 him thy victuals for increaseH4768.

I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430, whichH834 broughtH3318 youH834 forthH3318 outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, to giveH5414 youH834 the landH776 of CanaanH3667, to be your GodH430.

And ifH3588 thy brotherH251 be waxen poorH4134 with thee, and sellH4376 himselfH3808 unto thee; thou shalt notH3808 makeH5647 him to serveH5647 as a bondservant:

as an hiredH7916 servantH7916, and as a sojournerH8453, he shall be with thee; he shall serveH5647 with thee unto the yearH8141 of jubile:

then shall he goH3318 outH3318 from thee, he and his childrenH1121 with him, and shall returnH7725 unto his ownH272 familyH4940, and unto the possessionH272 of his fathersH1 shall he returnH7725.
