Isaiah 44:8-20

FearH6342 ye notH3808, neitherH3808 be afraidH6342: have I notH3808 declaredH5046 unto thee of old, and shewed it? and ye are my witnessesH5707. Is there a GodH433 beside meH5046? yea, there is noH3808 RockH6697; I knowH3045 notH3808 anyH3426.

They that fashionH3335 a gravenH6459 imageH6459 are allH3605 of them vanity; and their delectable things shall notH3045 profitH3276: and their own witnessesH5707 seeH7200 notH3045, norH1077 knowH3045; that they may be ashamedH954.

Who hath fashionedH3335 a godH410, or molten a gravenH6459 imageH6459 that is profitableH3276 for nothingH1115?

BeholdH2005, allH3605 his fellowsH2270 shall be ashamedH954; and the workmen, they are of menH120: let them allH3605 be gatheredH6908 togetherH3162, let them standH5975 upH5975; they shall fearH6342, they shall be ashamedH954 togetherH3162.

The smithH2796 maketh an axeH1270, and worketh in the coalsH6352, and fashioneth it with hammersH4717, and worketh it with his strongH3581 armH2220: yea, he is hungryH7456, and his strengthH2220 faileth; he drinketh noH3808 waterH4325, and is faint.

The carpenter stretcheth outH5186 a line; he marketh it outH5186 with a pencil; he shapeth it with planesH4741, and he marketh it outH5186 with the compasses, and shapeth it after the figureH8403 of a manH376, accordingH376 to the beautyH8597 of a manH376, to dwellH3427 in the houseH1004.

He heweth him downH3772 cedarsH730, and taketh the holm treeH6086 and the oakH437, and strengtheneth for himselfH1431 one among the treesH6086 of the forestH3293: he planteth a fir treeH6086, and the rainH1653 doth nourish it.

Then shall it be for a manH120 to burnH1197; and he taketh thereof, and warmeth himselfH7812; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh breadH3899: yea, he maketh a godH410, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a gravenH6459 imageH6459, and falleth downH7812 thereto.

He burneth partH5921 thereof in the fireH784; with partH5921 thereof he eateth fleshH1320; he roasteth roastH6748, and is satisfiedH7646: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, AhaH1889, I am warmH2552, I have seenH7200 the fireH784:

And the residue thereof he maketh a godH410, evenH3588 his gravenH6459 imageH6459: he falleth downH7812 unto it and worshippeth, and prayeth unto it, and saith, DeliverH5337 meH413; for thou art my godH410.

They knowH3045 notH3808, neitherH3808 do they considerH7200: for he hath shut their eyesH5869, that they cannotH3808 seeH7200; and their heartsH3820, that they cannotH3808 understandH995.

And noneH3808 calleth to mindH3820, neitherH3808 is there knowledgeH1847 norH3808 understandingH8394 to sayH559, I have burnedH8313 partH5921 of it in the fireH784; yea, also I have bakedH644 breadH3899 uponH5921 the coalsH1513 thereof; I have roasted fleshH1320 and eatenH398 it: and shall I makeH6213 the residue thereof an abominationH8441? shall I fallH5456 downH5456 to the stock of a treeH6086?

He feedeth on ashesH665: a deceived heartH3820 hath turnedH5186 him asideH5186, that he cannotH3808 deliverH5337 his soulH5315, norH3808 sayH559, Is there notH3808 a lieH8267 in my rightH3225 handH3225?
