Revised Version 1895
Isaiah 24:1-5
1BeholdH2009, the LORDH3068 maketh the earthH776 empty, and maketh it wasteH1110, and turneth it upside downH3427, and scattereth abroad the inhabitantsH3427 thereof.
2And it shall be, as with the peopleH5971, soH1961 with the priestH3548; as with the servantH5650, soH1961 with his masterH113; as with the maidH8198, soH1961 with herH1961 mistressH1404; as with the buyerH7069, soH1961 with the sellerH4376; as with the lender, soH1961 with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, soH1961 with the giver of usury to him.
3The earthH776 shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled; for the LORDH3068 hath spokenH1696 this wordH1697.
4The earthH776 mourneth and fadeth awayH535, the worldH8398 languisheth and fadeth awayH535, the loftyH4791 peopleH5971 of the earthH776 do languishH535.
5The earthH776 also is pollutedH2610 underH8478 the inhabitantsH3427 thereof; becauseH3588 they have transgressed the lawsH8451, changedH2498 the ordinanceH2706, brokenH6565 the everlastingH5769 covenantH1285.
