2 Kings 10:1-10

1Now AhabH256 had seventyH7657 sonsH1121 in SamariaH8111. And JehuH3058 wroteH3789 lettersH5612, and sentH7971 to SamariaH8111, unto the rulersH8269 of JezreelH3157, even the eldersH2205, and unto them that brought upH539 the sonsH1121 of AhabH256, sayingH559,

2And nowH6258 as soonH6258 as this letterH5612 cometh to youH935, seeing your master’sH113 sonsH1121 are with youH935, and there are with youH935 chariotsH7393 and horsesH5483, a fenced cityH5892 also, and armour;

3lookH7200 ye outH5921 the bestH2896 and meetest of your master’sH113 sonsH1121, and setH7760 him on his father’sH1 throneH3678, and fightH3898 for your master’sH113 houseH1004.

4But they were exceedinglyH3966 afraidH3372, and saidH559, BeholdH2009, the twoH8147 kingsH4428 stoodH5975 notH3808 beforeH6440 him: howH349 then shall weH587 standH5975?

5And he that was over the householdH1004, and he that was over the cityH5892, the eldersH2205 also, and they that broughtH6213 upH5921 the children, sentH7971 to JehuH3058, sayingH559, WeH587 are thy servantsH5650, and will doH6213 allH3605 that thou shalt bid usH413; weH587 will notH3808 makeH6213 anyH3605 manH376 kingH4427: doH6213 thou that whichH834 is goodH2896 in thine eyesH5869.

6Then he wroteH3789 a letterH5612 the secondH8145 time to them, sayingH559, IfH518 ye be on my sideH854, and ifH518 ye will hearken unto my voiceH6963, takeH3947 ye the headsH7218 of the menH376 your master’sH113 sonsH1121, and comeH935 to meH413 to JezreelH3157 by tomorrowH4279 this time. NowH6256 the king’sH4428 sonsH1121, beingH1121 seventyH7657 personsH376, were with the greatH1419 menH376 of the cityH5892, which broughtH935 them upH1431.

7And it cameH935 to passH935, when the letterH5612 cameH935 to them, that they tookH3947 the king’sH4428 sonsH1121, and slewH7819 them, evenH853 seventyH7657 personsH376, and putH7760 their headsH7218 in basketsH1731, and sentH7971 them unto him to JezreelH3157.

8And there cameH935 a messengerH4397, and toldH5046 him, sayingH559, They have broughtH935 the headsH7218 of the king’sH4428 sonsH1121. And he saidH559, LayH7760 ye them in twoH8147 heapsH6652 at the enteringH935 in of the gateH8179 untilH5704 the morningH1242.

9And it cameH1961 to passH1961 in the morningH1242, that he wentH3318 outH3318, and stoodH5975, and saidH559 to allH3605 the peopleH5971, Ye be righteousH6662: beholdH2009, I conspiredH7194 againstH5921 my masterH113, and slewH2026 him: but who smoteH5221 allH3605 theseH428?

10KnowH3045 nowH3588 that there shall fallH5307 unto the earthH776 nothingH3808 of the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, whichH834 the LORDH3068 spake concerning the houseH1004 of AhabH256: for the LORDH3068 hath doneH6213 that whichH834 he spake by his servantH5650 ElijahH452.
