23But howsoever, said he,let me runאָר֔וּץ'a.RutzH7323.And he saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Runר֑וּץRutzH7323.Then Ahimaazאֲחִימַ֙עַץ֙'a.chi.Ma.'atzH290ranוַיָּ֤רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323by the wayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the plainהַכִּכָּ֔רha.ki.KarH3603,and overranוַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674Cushiהַכּוּשִֽׁי׃ha.ku.ShiH3569.

24And Davidוְדָוִ֥דve.da.VidH1732satיוֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427between the twoשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8147gatesהַשְּׁעָרִ֑יםha.she.'a.RimH8179:and the watchmanהַצֹּפֶ֜הha.tzo.PehH6822went upH3212to the roofגַּ֤גgagH1406over the gateהַשַּׁ֙עַר֙ha.Sha.'arH8179unto the wallהַ֣חוֹמָ֔הha.cho.MahH2346,and lifted upוַיִּשָּׂ֤אvai.yi.Sa'H5375his eyesעֵינָיו֙'ei.NavH5869,and lookedוַיַּ֔רְאvai.Yar'H7200,and behold a manאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376runningרָ֥ץratzH7323alone.

25And the watchmanהַצֹּפֶה֙ha.tzo.PehH6822criedוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121,and toldוַיַּגֵּ֣דvai.ya.GedH5046the kingלַמֶּ֔לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428.And the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, If he be alone, there istidingsבְּשׂוֹרָ֣הbe.so.RahH1309in his mouthבְּפִ֑יוbe.FivH6310.And he cameH3212apaceH1980,and drew nearוְקָרֵֽב׃ve.ka.RevH7131.
