Nahum 1:8-14

8But with an 1overflowing flood He will make a complete end of 2its site, And will pursue His enemies into 3darkness.

9Whatever you 4devise against the Lord, He will make a 5complete end of it. Distress will not rise up twice.10Like tangled 6thorns, And like those who are 7drunken with their drink, They are 8consumed Like stubble completely dried up.11From you has gone out One who 9plotted evil against the Lord, A 1011wicked counselor. 12This is what the Lord says: “Though they are at full strength and so they are many, So also they will be 12cut off and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you 13no longer.13So now, I will 14break his yoke from upon you, And I will tear your shackles to pieces.”

14The Lord has issued a command concerning 15you: “16Your name will 17no longer be perpetuated. I will eliminate the 18carved image and the cast metal image From the house of your gods. I will prepare your 19grave, For you are contemptible.”
