Matthew 6:19-34

“1Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves 2treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21for 3where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

“4The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is 5clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if 6your eye is 7bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

“8No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and 910wealth.

“11For this reason I say to you, 12do not be 13worried about your 14life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 2615Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? 27And which of you by 16worrying can 17add a single 18day to his 19life’s span? 28And why are you 20worried about clothing? Notice how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin thread for cloth, 29yet I say to you that not even 21Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30But if God so clothes the 22grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? 23You of little faith! 31Do not 24worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ 32For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for 25your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But 26seek first 27His kingdom and His righteousness, and 28all these things will be 29provided to you.

“So do not 30worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will 31worry about itself. 32Each day has enough trouble of its own.
