Matthew 27:21-24
21And the governor 1said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release for you?” And they said, “Barabbas.” 22Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus 2who is called Christ?” They all said, “3Crucify Him!” 23But he said, “Why, what evil has He done?” Yet they kept shouting all the more, saying, “4Crucify Him!”
24Now when Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that 5a riot was starting, he took water and 6washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of 7this Man’s blood; 8you yourselves shall see.”
