Malachi 1:2-5
2“I have 1loved you,” says the Lord. But you say, “How have You loved us?” “Was Esau not Jacob’s brother?” declares the Lord. “Yet I 2have loved Jacob; 3but I have hated Esau, and I have 3made his mountains a desolation and given his inheritance to the jackals of the wilderness.” 4Though Edom says, “We have been 4beaten down, but we will 56return and build up the ruins”; this is what the Lord of armies says: “They may 7build, but I will tear down; and people will call them the 8territory of wickedness, and the people 9with whom the Lord is indignant 10forever.” 5And your eyes will see this, and you will say, “11The Lord 12be exalted beyond the 13border of Israel!”
