Luke 9:52-62

52and He sent messengers on ahead of Him, and they went and entered a village of the 1Samaritans to 2make arrangements for Him. 53And they did not receive Him, 3because 4He was traveling toward Jerusalem. 54When His disciples 5James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to 6command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” 55But He turned and rebuked them.7 56And they went on to another village.

57 8As they were going on the road, 9someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go.” 58And Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but 10the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” 59And He said to another, “11Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.” 60But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and 12proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.” 61Another also said, “I will follow You, Lord; but 13first permit me to say goodbye to those at my home.” 62But Jesus said to him, “14No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
