Luke 23:37-50
37and saying, “1If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!” 38Now there was also an inscription above Him, “2THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
393One of the criminals who were hanged there was 4hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the 5Christ? 6Save Yourself and us!” 40But the other responded, and rebuking him, said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving 7what we deserve for our crimes; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” 42And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” 43And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in 8Paradise.”
449It was now about 1011the sixth hour, and darkness came over the entire land until 12the ninth hour, 4513because the sun stopped shining; and 14the veil of the temple was torn 15in two. 46And Jesus, 16crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, 17into Your hands I entrust My spirit.” And having said this, He 18died. 4719Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began 20praising God, saying, “This Man was in fact 21innocent.” 48And all the crowds who came together for this spectacle, after watching what had happened, began to return home, 2223beating their chests. 4924And all His acquaintances and 25the women who accompanied Him from Galilee were standing at a distance, seeing these things.
5026And a man named Joseph, who was a 27member of the Council, a good and righteous man
