Lamentations 5:2-7
2Our inheritance has been turned over to 1strangers, Our 2houses to foreigners.3We have become orphans, 3without a father; Our mothers are like widows.44We have to pay for our drinking 5water, Our wood comes to us at a price.56Our pursuers are at our necks; We are worn out, we are given 7no rest.6We have 8submitted to 9Egypt and Assyria 10to get enough bread.7Our 11fathers sinned, and are gone; It is we who have been burdened with the punishment for their wrongdoings.
