Lamentations 3:42-54

42We have 1done wrong and rebelled; You have 2not pardoned.43You have covered Yourself with 3anger And 4pursued us; You have slain and 5have not spared.44You have 6veiled Yourself with a cloud So that 7no prayer can pass through.45You have made us mere 8refuse and rubbish In the midst of the peoples.46All our enemies have 9opened their mouths against us.47 10Panic and pitfall have come upon us, Devastation and destruction;48My 11 12eyes run down with streams of water Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.49My eyes flow 13unceasingly, Without stopping,50Until the Lord 14looks down And sees from heaven.51My eyes bring pain to my soul Because of all the daughters of my city.52My enemies 15without reason Hunted me down 16like a bird;53They have silenced 17me 18in the pit And have 19 20thrown stones on me.54Waters flowed 21over my head; I said, “I am 22cut off!”
