Acts 2:5-12

5Now there were Jews residing in Jerusalem, 1devout men from every nation under heaven.

6And when 2this sound occurred, the crowd came together and they were bewildered, because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own 3language.

74They were amazed and astonished, saying, “5Why, are not all these who are speaking 6Galileans?

8And how is it that we each hear them in our own 7language 8to which we were born?

9Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, and 9Cappadocia, 10Pontus and 1112Asia,

1013Phrygia and 14Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya around 15Cyrene, and 1617visitors from Rome, both Jews and 1819proselytes,

11Cretans and Arabs--we hear them speaking in our own 20tongues of the mighty deeds of God.”

12And 21they all continued in amazement and great perplexity, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”
