2 Samuel 5:1-5

11Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and 2said, “Behold, we are 3your bone and your flesh. 2Previously, when Saul was king over us, 4you were the one who led Israel 5out and in. And the Lord said to you, ‘6You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be 7a leader over Israel.’” 3So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David 8made a covenant with them before the Lord in Hebron; then 9they anointed David king over Israel. 4David was 10thirty years old when he became king, and 11he reigned for forty years. 5At Hebron 12he reigned over Judah for seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned for thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
