1 Peter 2:9-11

9But you are 1a chosen people, a royal 2priesthood, a 3holy nation, 4a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you 5out of darkness into His marvelous light; 106for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

117Beloved, 8I urge you as 9foreigners and strangers to abstain from 10fleshly lusts, which wage 11war against the soul.
