1 Corinthians 8:4-8

4Therefore, concerning the eating of 1food sacrificed to idols, we know that an 2idol is 3nothing at all in the world, and that 4there is no God but one. 5For even if 5there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, 6yet for us 6there is only one God, 7the Father, 8from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and 9one Lord, Jesus Christ, 10by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.

7However, not all people 11have this knowledge; but 12some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. 8Now 13food will not bring us 14close to God; we are neither 15the worse if we do not eat, nor 16the better if we do eat.
