Romans 4:17-22

(as it is written, “1A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, 2who gives life to the dead and 34calls into being 5that which does not exist.

In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become 6a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “7So shall your 8descendants be.”

Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now 9as good as dead since 10he was about a hundred years old, and 11the deadness of Sarah’s womb;

yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, 12giving glory to God,

and 13being fully assured that 14what God had promised, He was able also to perform.

Therefore 15it was also credited to him as righteousness.
