37Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586inquiredוַיִּשְׁאַ֤לvai.yish.'AlH7592of Godבֵּֽאלֹהִ֔יםbe.lo.HimH430, “Shall I goהַֽאֵרֵד֙ha.'e.RedH3381downH3381afterאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430?Will You giveהֲתִתְּנֵ֖םha.ti.te.NemH5414them into the handבְּיַ֣דbe.YadH3027of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478?” ButHe did not answerעָנָ֖הוּ'a.Na.huH6030him on that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117.

38Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Drawגֹּ֣שֽׁוּGo.shuH5066nearH5066hereהֲלֹ֔םha.LomH1988,allכֹּ֖לkolH3605youchiefsפִּנּ֣וֹתpi.NotH6438of the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971,and investigateוּדְע֣וּu.de.'UH3045and seeוּרְא֔וּu.re.'UH7200howבַּמָּ֗הba.MahH4100thisH2088sinהַחַטָּ֥אתha.cha.TatH2403has happenedהָֽיְתָ֛הha.ye.TahH1961todayהַיּֽוֹם׃hai.YomH3117.

39Foras the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416,who deliversהַמּוֹשִׁ֙יעַ֙ha.mo.Shi.a'H3467Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,thoughאִם־'im-H3588 H518it is in JonathanH3083my sonבְּנִ֖יbe.NiH1121,he shall surelyמ֣וֹתMotH3588 H4191dieיָמ֑וּתya.MutH4191.”But not oneוְאֵ֥יןve.'EinH369of allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605the peopleהָעָֽם׃ha.'AmH5971answeredעֹנֵ֖הוּ'o.Ne.huH6030him.

40Then he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to allכָּל־kol-H3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “You shall be on oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259sideלְעֵ֣בֶרle.'E.verH5676and I and JonathanH3083my sonבְּנִ֔יbe.NiH1121will be on the otherאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259sideלְעֵ֣בֶרle.'E.verH5676.”And the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971saidוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586, “Doעֲשֵֽׂה׃ ס'a.SehH6213whatH2896seems goodH2896to you.”

41Therefore, Saulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the LordH3068,the GodH430of IsraelH3478, “GiveH3051a perfectתָמִ֑יםta.MimH8549lot.”And JonathanH3083and Saulוְשָׁא֖וּלve.sha.'UlH7586were takenוַיִּלָּכֵ֧דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920,but the peopleH5971escapedיָצָֽאוּ׃ya.Tza.'uH3318.
