2Then he sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֧חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֛יםmal.'a.KhimH4397to the cityהָעִֽירָה׃ha.'I.rahH5892to Ahabאַחְאָ֥ב'ach.'AvH256kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Thusכֹּ֚הkohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Ben-hadadH1130,

3‘Your silverכַּסְפְּךָ֥kas.pe.KhaH3701and your goldוּֽזְהָבְךָ֖u.ze.ha.ve.KhaH2091are mine; your most beautifulהַטּוֹבִ֖יםha.to.VimH2896wivesוְנָשֶׁ֧יךָve.na.Shei.khaH802and childrenוּבָנֶ֛יךָu.va.Nei.khaH1121are also mine.’”

4The kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478repliedוַיַּ֤עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030, “It is according to your wordכִּדְבָרְךָ֖kid.va.re.KhaH1697,my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113,O kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428;I am yours, and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605that I have.”

5Then the messengersהַמַּלְאָכִ֔יםha.mal.'a.KhimH4397returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙vai.ya.Shu.vuH7725and saidH559, “Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysH559Ben-hadadH1130, ‘Surelyכִּֽי־ki-H3588,I sentשָׁלַ֤חְתִּיsha.Lach.tiH7971to you sayingH559, “You shall giveתִתֵּֽן׃ti.TenH5414me your silverכַּסְפְּךָ֧kas.pe.KhaH3701and your goldוּזְהָבְךָ֛u.ze.ha.ve.KhaH2091and your wivesוְנָשֶׁ֥יךָve.na.Shei.khaH802and your childrenוּבָנֶ֖יךָu.va.Nei.khaH1121,”

6but about this timeכָּעֵ֣תka.'EtH6256tomorrowמָחָ֗רma.CharH4279I will sendאֶשְׁלַ֤ח'esh.LachH7971my servantsעֲבָדַי֙'a.va.DaiH5650to you, and they will searchוְחִפְּשׂוּ֙ve.chi.pe.SuH2664your houseבֵּ֣יתְךָ֔bei.te.khaH1004and the housesבָּתֵּ֣יba.TeiH1004of your servantsעֲבָדֶ֑יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650; andwhateverכָּל־kol-H3605is desirableמַחְמַ֣דmach.MadH4261in your eyesעֵינֶ֔יךָ'ei.Nei.khaH5869, they willtakeיָשִׂ֥ימוּya.Si.muH7760in their handבְיָדָ֖םve.ya.DamH3027and carryוְלָקָֽחוּ׃ve.la.Ka.chuH3947away.’”

7Then the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478calledוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the eldersזִקְנֵ֣יzik.NeiH2205of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Pleaseנָ֣אna'H4994observeדְּעֽוּ־de.'u-H3045andseeוּרְא֔וּu.re.'UH7200howH3588thisזֶ֣הzehH2088man is lookingמְבַקֵּ֑שׁme.va.KeshH1245for troubleH7463;for he sentשָׁלַ֨חsha.LachH7971to me for my wivesלְנָשַׁ֤יle.na.ShaiH802and my childrenוּלְבָנַי֙u.le.va.NaiH1121and my silverוּלְכַסְפִּ֣יu.le.khas.PiH3701and my goldוְלִזְהָבִ֔יve.liz.ha.ViH2091,and I did not refuseמָנַ֖עְתִּיma.Na'.tiH4513him.”
