37Answerעֲנֵ֤נִי'a.Ne.niH6030me, O Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,answerעֲנֵ֔נִי'a.Ne.niH6030me, that thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971may knowוְיֵֽדְעוּ֙ve.ye.de.'UH3045that You, O Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,are Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, and thatYou have turnedהֲסִבֹּ֥תָha.si.Bo.taH5437their heartלִבָּ֖םli.BamH3820backH322againH322.”

38Then thefireאֵשׁ־'esh-H784of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068fellוַתִּפֹּ֣לva.ti.PolH5307and consumedוַתֹּ֤אכַלva.To.khalH398the burntהָֽעֹלָה֙ha.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930and the woodהָ֣עֵצִ֔יםha.'e.TzimH6086and the stonesהָאֲבָנִ֖יםha.'a.va.NimH68and the dustהֶעָפָ֑רhe.'a.FarH6083,and lickedלִחֵֽכָה׃li.Che.khahH3897up the waterהַמַּ֥יִםha.Ma.yimH4325that was in the trenchבַּתְּעָלָ֖הba.te.'a.LahH8585.

39When allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971sawוַיַּרְא֙vai.yaR'H7200it, they fellוַֽיִּפְּל֖וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307on their facesפְּנֵיהֶ֑םpe.nei.HemH6440;and they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “The Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,He is Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430;the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,He is Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.”

40Then Elijahאֵלִיָּ֨הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559to them, “Seizeתִּפְשׂ֣וּ׀tif.SuH8610the prophetsנְבִיאֵ֣יne.vi.'EiH5030of Baalהַבַּ֗עַלha.Ba.'alH1168;do not let oneאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376of them escapeיִמָּלֵ֥טyi.ma.LetH4422.”So they seizedוַֽיִּתְפְּשׂ֑וּםvai.yit.pe.SumH8610them; and Elijahאֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙'e.li.Ya.huH452broughtH3381them downוַיּוֹרִדֵ֤םvai.yo.ri.DemH3381tothe brookנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158Kishonקִישׁ֔וֹןki.ShonH7028,and slewוַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖םvai.yish.cha.TemH7819them thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.
