Matthew 9:18-38

181While He was saying these things to them, 2a synagogue 3official came and 45bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.” 19Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.

20And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched 6the 7fringe of His 8cloak; 21for she was saying 9to herself, “If I only 10touch His garment, I will 11get well.” 22But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Daughter, 12take courage; 13your faith has 14made you well.” 15At once the woman was 16made well.

23When Jesus came into the 17official’s house, and saw 18the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder, 24He said, “Leave; for the girl 19has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him. 25But 20when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and 21took her by the hand, and the girl 22got up. 2623This news spread throughout all that land.

27As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Have mercy on us, 24Son of David!” 28When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29Then He touched their eyes, saying, “25It shall be done to you 26according to your faith.” 30And their eyes were opened. And Jesus 27sternly warned them: “See that no one knows about this!” 31But they went out and 28spread the news about Him throughout all that land.

32As they were going out, 29a mute, 30demon-possessed man 31was brought to Him. 33After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “32Nothing like this has 33ever been seen in Israel.” 34But the Pharisees were saying, “He 34casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

35Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, 35teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

3636Seeing the 37people, He felt compassion for them, 38because they were 39distressed and 40dispirited like sheep 41without a shepherd. 37Then He said to His disciples, “42The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
