Matthew 5:2-12
21He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,
3“23Blessed are the 4poor in spirit, for 5theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4“Blessed are 6those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5“Blessed are 7the 8gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
6“Blessed are 9those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7“Blessed are 10the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8“Blessed are 11the pure in heart, for 12they shall see God.
9“Blessed are the peacemakers, for 13they shall be called sons of God.
10“Blessed are those who have been 14persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for 15theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11“Blessed are you when people 16insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for 17in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
