Jude 1:3-17
31Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our 2common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you 3contend earnestly for 4the faith which was once for all 5handed down to 6the 7saints. 4For certain persons have 8crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand 910marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn 11the grace of our God into 12licentiousness and 13deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5Now I desire to 14remind you, though 15you know all things once for all, that 16the Lord, 17after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, 18subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6And 19angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has 20kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7just as 21Sodom and Gomorrah and the 22cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and 23went after 24strange flesh, are exhibited as an 2526example in undergoing the 27punishment of eternal fire.
8Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, 28defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile 29angelic majesties. 9But 30Michael 31the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about 32the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, “33The Lord rebuke you!” 10But 34these men revile the things which they do not understand; and 35the things which they know by instinct, 36like unreasoning animals, by these things they are 37destroyed. 11Woe to them! For they have gone 38the way of Cain, and for pay 39they have rushed headlong into 40the error of Balaam, and 41perished in the rebellion of Korah. 12These are the men who are 42hidden reefs 43in your love feasts when they feast with you 44without fear, caring for themselves; 45clouds without water, 46carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, 47doubly dead, 48uprooted; 1349wild waves of the sea, casting up 50their own 51shame like foam; wandering stars, 52for whom the 53black darkness has been reserved forever.
14It was also about these men that 54Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “55Behold, the Lord came with 56many thousands of His holy ones, 1557to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which 58ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” 16These are 59grumblers, finding fault, 60following after their own lusts; 61they speak 62arrogantly, flattering people 63for the sake of gaining an advantage.
17But you, 64beloved, 65ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by 66the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,
