Isaiah 8:17-22
17And I will 1wait for the Lord 2who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; I will even look eagerly for Him. 183Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are for 4signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who 5dwells on Mount Zion.
19When they say to you, “6Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,” should not a people 7consult their God? Should they 8consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20To the 910law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because 11they have no dawn. 21They will pass through 12the land 13hard-pressed and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse 14their king and their God as they face upward. 22Then they will 15look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and they will be 16driven away into darkness.
