Isaiah 53:3-10

He was 1despised and forsaken of men, A man of 2sorrows and 3acquainted with 4grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was 5despised, and we did not 6esteem Him.

Surely our 7griefs He Himself 8bore, And our 9sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, 10Smitten of 11God, and afflicted.5But He was 12pierced through for 13our transgressions, He was crushed for 14our iniquities; The 15chastening for our 16well-being fell upon Him, And by 17His scourging we are healed.6All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To 18fall on Him.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not 19open His mouth; 20Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.8By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the 21living 22For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?9His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a 23rich man in His death, 24Because He had 25done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

But the Lord was pleased To 26crush Him, 2728putting Him to grief; If 29He would render Himself as a guilt 30offering, He will see 31His 32offspring, He will prolong His days, And the 33good 34pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
