Isaiah 51:7-16
71Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A people in whose 2heart is My law; Do not fear the 3reproach of man, Nor be dismayed at their revilings.8For the 4moth will eat them like a garment, And the 5grub will eat them like wool. But My 6righteousness will be forever, And My salvation to all generations.”
97Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; Awake as in the 8days of old, the generations of long ago. 9Was it not You who cut Rahab in pieces, Who pierced the 10dragon?10Was it not You who 11dried up the sea, The waters of the great deep; Who made the depths of the sea a pathway For the 12redeemed to cross over?11So the 13ransomed of the Lord will return And come with joyful shouting to Zion, And 14everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, And 15sorrow and sighing will flee away.
12“I, even I, am He who 16comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of 17man who dies And of the son of man who is made 18like grass,13That you have 19forgotten the Lord your Maker, Who 20stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth, That you 21fear continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, As he makes ready to destroy? But where is the fury of the 22oppressor? 14The 2324exile will soon be set free, and will not die in the dungeon, 25nor will his bread be lacking. 15For I am the Lord your God, who 26stirs up the sea and its waves roar (the Lord of hosts is His name). 16I have 27put My words in your mouth and have 28covered you with the shadow of My hand, to 2930establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’”
