Ephesians 5:3-20
3But 1immorality 2or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among 3saints; 4and there must be no 4filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which 5are not fitting, but rather 6giving of thanks. 5For this you know with certainty, that 7no 8immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom 9of Christ and God.
610Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things 11the wrath of God comes upon 12the sons of disobedience. 7Therefore do not be 13partakers with them; 8for 14you were formerly 15darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as 16children of Light 9(for 17the fruit of the Light consists in all 18goodness and righteousness and truth), 101920trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 1121Do not participate in the unfruitful 22deeds of 23darkness, but instead even 2425expose them; 12for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13But all things become visible 26when they are 27exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. 14For this reason 28it says, “29Awake, sleeper, And arise from 30the dead, And Christ 31will shine on you.”
15Therefore 32be careful how you 33walk, not 34as unwise men but as wise, 163536making the most of your time, because 37the days are evil. 17So then do not be foolish, but 38understand what the will of the Lord is. 18And 39do not get drunk with wine, 40for that is 41dissipation, but be 42filled with the Spirit, 1943speaking to 44one another in 45psalms and 46hymns and spiritual 47songs, 48singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 2049always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to 5051God, even the Father;
