Ephesians 2:8-22

8For 1by grace you have been saved 2through faith; and 3that not of yourselves, it is 4the gift of God; 95not as a result of works, so that 6no one may boast. 10For we are His workmanship, 7created in 8Christ Jesus for 9good works, which God 10prepared beforehand so that we would 11walk in them.

11Therefore remember that 12formerly 13you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “14Uncircumcision” by the so-called “15Circumcision,” which is performed in the flesh by human hands-- 12remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, 1617excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to 18the covenants of promise, having 19no hope and 20without God in the world. 13But now in 21Christ Jesus you who 22formerly were 23far off 24have 25been brought near 2627by the blood of Christ. 14For He Himself is 28our peace, 29who made both groups into one and broke down the 30barrier of the dividing wall, 1531by 32abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is 33the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might 3435make the two into 36one new man, thus establishing 37peace, 16and might 38reconcile them both in 39one body to God through the cross, 40by it having 41put to death the enmity. 17And 42He came and preached 43peace to you who were 44far away, and peace to those who were 45near; 18for through Him we both have 46our access in 47one Spirit to 48the Father. 19So then you are no longer 49strangers and aliens, but you are 50fellow citizens with the 51saints, and are of 52God’s household, 20having been 53built on 54the foundation of 55the apostles and prophets, 56Christ Jesus Himself being the 57corner stone, 2158in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into 59a holy 60temple in the Lord, 22in whom you also are being 61built together into a 62dwelling of God in the Spirit.
