Acts 2:22-36
22“Men of Israel, listen to these words: 1Jesus the Nazarene, 2a man 3attested to you by God with 4miracles and 5wonders and 6signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know-- 23this Man, delivered over by the 7predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, 8you nailed to a cross by the hands of 9godless men and put Him to death. 2410But 11God raised Him up again, putting an end to the 12agony of death, since it 13was impossible for Him to be held 14in its power. 25For David says of Him, ‘15I saw the Lord always in my presence; For He is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken.26Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue exulted; Moreover my flesh also will live in hope;27Because You will not abandon my soul to 16Hades, 17Nor 18allow Your 19Holy One to 20undergo decay.28You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of gladness with Your presence.’
29“21Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the 22patriarch David that he both 23died and 24was buried, and 25his tomb is 26with us to this day. 30And so, because he was 27a prophet and knew that 28God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one 29of his descendants on his throne, 31he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of 30the Christ, that 31He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh 32suffer decay. 32This Jesus 33God raised up again, to which we are all 34witnesses. 33Therefore having been exalted 3536to the right hand of God, and 37having received from the Father 38the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has 39poured forth this which you both see and hear. 34For it was not David who ascended into 40heaven, but he himself says: ‘41The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,35Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’ 36Therefore let all the 42house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both 43Lord and 44Christ--this Jesus 45whom you crucified.”
