1 Timothy 1:3-7

3As I urged you 1upon my departure for 2Macedonia, 3remain on at 4Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to 5teach strange doctrines, 4nor to 6pay attention to 7myths and endless 8genealogies, which give rise to mere 9speculation rather than 10furthering 11the administration of God which is by faith. 5But the goal of our 1213instruction is love 14from a pure heart and a 15good conscience and a sincere 16faith. 6For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to 17fruitless discussion, 718wanting to be 19teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.
